I arrived here on a Tuesday evening and I was greeted with a familiar sight. A full campground. I drove down the park road, I hiked here and there, and before I knew it the sun was setting. You guessed it, another night in my car.
The following morning I hiked up to the rim overlook, and then I was going to hike the Grand Wash. It turned out that the Grand Wash was closed due to potential flash floods. I spent the rest of my day at the visitor center and here I helped a tourist fix his flat tire. The scenery is fabulous and I'm convinced that I didn't even see the best that the park has to offer. A lengthy hike to Cathedral Valley or you can take a 4x4 there on a dirt road is probably the most remarkable section of the park and I didn't get too close to it.
