Kootenay National Park is probably just a park passed through on travelers vacations to the more popular Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks. It's not as large or as dramatic as the aforementioned parks but it still has its attractions. Marble Canyon is as nice as many of the more popular slot canyons in Jasper and Banff, and the back-country hiking is as good as it gets anywhere in the Canadian Rockies.
I spent only one night here and I hiked just a few miles, but I enjoyed my visit. I also got to put my jumper cables, which I bought with my George Foreman, to use. I found some stranded Canadians. I thought for sure I would leave George Foreman on and need to jump my own car but instead I was using it to jump someone else's car.
