Me and my mustache 2024 Candidate Debate = Postponed

2024 Presidential Hopeful, Rob Thomas and I had hoped to get together when I passed back through the San Francisco Bay area. We had even planned on having a facial hair competition, which, by the way, I am sure I would have destroyed him in (much like the campaign). I could have wittled out a veryvoluptuous push broom mustache the likes of which he and his Stanford friends have never seen.

BUT, scheduling conflicts occurred, we did not meet up, and I just kept on chugging up to Portland. One of the many nice things about campaigning for 2024, that you can honestly say "there's plenty of time."

GGB Banner Walking through 2024 Candidate, Rob Thomas' Backyard

Since I arrived in San Francisco around the Thanksgiving Holiday, I assumed our 2024 opponent, Rob Thomas, wouldn't be around. Instead of having a debate, right then and there, I decided to imagine what I would like to do welcome him back to the Bay Area when he returns from having turkey with his family. Since I had places I wanted to go, it would have been done in the form of a banner. Sort of like the picture at left.

Besides, we've got a good 15 years to settle our debates. Maybe after meeting each other it will turn out that we agree on most issues. Until then, I'll just have to keep on loathing him. There's probably a chance his studies will get to him and he'll end up walking the bridge. You never know, but that'd be one less 2024 opponent for us.

John BaezYet Another 2024 Candidate: John Baez

Blasted internet popped up another 2024 Candidate. This time it's John Baez and he has t-shirts, and buttons, and who knows what else. I hope he doesn't have as dedicated a campaign manager as Marquardt Oswald. At this rate, there will be about 100 candidates by 2023.

I'm not sure what more I can do at this point. I think, I'm going to take it easy for the rest of 2009, and crank it up the campaigning a little in 2010 when I go to Sarah Palin's home state. Although, when I was discussing that with my President, I told him that I was going to shower Palin with my VP credentials to see if she'd take me on.

Rob Thomas - HorseShoeMy Nemesis is always 10 Steps Ahead

2024 Presidential Candidate, Rob Thomas, did it again. He's such a big minded thinker too. Seriously, look at these venues he's securing. I don't know how we're going to take him down, right now I'm just running a very simple campaign awareness program comprising of strategically placed posters and bumper stickers, while RT is speaking to thousands at venues across the country and he's always beating me to the destinations.

I can't let this slow me down, we'll just keep plugging away on our 15 year plan.

Campaigning for the Eye in the Sky

While at playing in the sand at Great Sand Dunes National Park it was hard not to notice all of the written messages in the sand. Since other people were doing it, I decided to leave my message. I also needed to do something because word reached me that another challenger, Ben Tawney (I think) has entered the race. His entry was marked by a 2024 Campaign sign in the crowd at College Gameday in Columbus, OH. The 2024 Presidential field is getting crowded already and it's still 2009 last I checked.

Moccasins on roof-topNew Campaign Posters Issued

I don't know if I would call this retalition to Rob Thomas' big speech, it's just something I ought to do. I have a friend back in Wisconsin who teaches Politics. She was searching for poster ideas to decorate her walls, and I decided to do one better than an idea, I made her a couple of posters.

These are perfect, she can leave them on the wall for at least 15 years. It's highly likely that they'll be collectibles as the first ever Marquardt/Oswald Campaign posters when we are completing our second stint as President/Vice President.

Here they are (full size) if you would like to have these babies printed up for yourself.

Rob Thomas speaks a WaMu2024 Presidential Opponent, Rob Thomas Speaks at WaMu Theater

This guy is just full of surprises. I kind of figured that while school was in session I would be left campaigning on my own, but then as I strolled by the WaMu Theater on my way to SafeCo field I could help but notice that a familiar name was speaking: ROB THOMAS!!

Seriously, he most definitely is a formidable opponent, but we're just going to have to go and beat him. I don't plan on future President Marty or myself giving speeches anytime soon, but I'll think of something.

At least it looks like he's traveling with an ornery public and a liar (or maybe even multiple liars. I don't think that can hurt our cause too much.

Rober Thomas's WristbandThe 2024 Presidential Campaign Just Got Interesting

I have to tell you, most of the time when I google, google returns the answer I'm expecting. Boy was I wrong when I googled "2024 Presidential Campaign." This seemingly innocent query returned a startling response. The first hit read: "Robert Thomas's 2024 Campaign HQ." What in the World? Who else starts campaigning for an election that is 15 years away. Apparently Robert Thomas does. I commend him for this, actually he declared his run for presidency during his 2007 High School Graduation Speech. It looks like Marty and I aren't alone, but I'll bet he doesn't have bumper stickers. Not yet anyway and he has bracelets - I'm a Debbie Downer. Wahhhh-wah!

Pinky Up The 2024 Presidential Campaign hits the road again

The campaign wagon is hitting the road again. This time it's headed out west and it's bringing BUMPER STICKERS along!! Hahaha, I love it. Take a look at the calendar and come out and meet me at one of the campaign stops.

Nice BumperInnovative Bumpers Used for MyBumper Stickers

My nephew, Liam wasn't really thinking outside of the box when he told me "I'm going to save my money so I can buy a bumper to put this sticker on." Maybe it's because he's not old enough to drink beer yet, but at this year's Pitlick's Polish Regatta my bumper stickers found their way on to bumpers of a different sort. Everyone has a bumper, so why don't you come out and get yourself a sticker? Also, support is starting to come from opposite ends of the United States. Here's a picture of a car in Texas. I thought that my mobile home would be the only wheels decked out with these sweet babies.

While up North we also saw bumpers adorned with another sort of advertisement. It was complete shock and awe when I first saw these bumpers. I didn't know if I should laugh out loud at this spectacle or if I should be upset that my gusto was being stolen by a bunch of high-schoolers. I laughed, laughed some more, took a picture, and now I talk about it to just about everyone I see that knows about our weekend for boys. ABNC, who does that??

Lack of Competition Skews Early 2024 Poll Results:

Since no one other than Marquardt/Oswald has openly admitted that they will be running for the Office of President of the United States in 2024 the polling results have been a bit skewed. Only a few hundred votes have been tallied with a resounding number of those in favor of Oswald/Marquardt. At the present time, more than 15 years until the actual election these unconventional candidates are nearing the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency..

It should also be noted that the polling was done by their campaign team, namely, Mike Oswald. The campaign has slowed down over the months of March and June, but it is sure to pick up right after the fourth of July when he takes the campaign wagon back out on the road.

Since these results were issued two new opponents have entered the race. A new pole should come out before the end of the year.

Humble Beginnings to Meaningful Ends:

It's well known that citizens of the United States enjoy grumbling about politics. Since our countries beginning US politics has been ruled in a partisan manner which breeds bitter disputes between extreme left and extreme right individuals.

Fast forward to today and things haven't changes. Just listen to Rush Limbaugh for a few minutes or turn on Fox News to see the dubious mud-slinging of the right-wingers. Then turn on Comedy Central and watch John Stewart and Stephen Colbert satirize the opposition in, albeit a quite humurous routine, grand fashion, but inevitably widening the gap between Democrats and Republicans rather than uniting as citizens of the United States of America with one common interest; the success of our Nation.

It's ironic that we are running (temporarily) under the Whig party, as the Whig Party essentially created the two-party system that we are familiar with today. We're not running as Whigs today because we share their beliefs. We're running as Whigs because both of us will be bald by 2024 and will probably be sporting a piece or maybe one of those nice powdered wigs from the olden days?

Our campaign has only been running for a few short months and we've made considerable progress but if the dreams of a great, undivided nation are to be achieved we have much more to do. Until then we must continue to campaign and continue to work on our policy.
