President Ryan Marquardt:
Future President Ryan Marquardt was born and raised in Manitowoc, WI. He understands and appreciates the privileges his family had givevn him. He grew up on the North side of Manitowoc sheltered from the crime and temptations found on the streets of South Manitowoc, but he hasn't forgotten about those less fortunate than he is.
He learned how to earn a living, working for the Manitowoc Parks System. You would often see him mowing the lawn in kahakis and a dress shirt because he didn't want to ruin his favorite t-shirts, flannel, or jeans.
Later, Ryan earned a degree in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. He is currently working for ECI in Verona, WI.
Ryan is a man who thinks practically and trusts logic before impulse, values need before want. Simply thinking practically does not make someone a quality candidate for the highest office our nation has to offer. He has some extensive executive experience. This summer he will be entering his 6th year as acting Captain of "Team Marty" for our weekend up North with many of our closest friends.
He and his wife, Maggie also just began to form that perfect White House family with the birth of his first child Thomas Marquardt.
To sum it up, he's a rational thinking man of the people that will work for the people.
Vice President Mike Oswald:
First, I'm not entirely confident that I will make it through the vetting process. I don't have the va-va-va-Vroooom that Sarah Palin has and Ryan has known me for quite some time, and he has been around for most of my poor choices. But, I'll let the wishful thinking continue. I feel like I could have typed this around the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song - maybe I should do that next?
Mike Oswald, born and raised in Branch Wisconsin, grew up on a farm just outside the Manitowoc City Limits.
Much of his childhood was spent playing cribbage with Grandpa, shooting sparrows with his neighbor, and heaving up three-pointer after three-pointer on the basketball court.
In the classroom you would catch him sleeping more often than you would catch him turning in homework. While he wasn't excelling in the classroom he did begin to appreciate earning a living. Powered by want of material things he worked two jobs, bagging groceries at Sentry, and Skate Guard at the Manitowoc Country Ice Center. While he worked his way up to Shift Supervisor (driving the Zamboni) at the Ice Center he refused promotion at the grocery store, stating that "I like bagging." Although not good at it (the lady from flaural once beat him in a bag-off), he enjoyed speaking with the customers and cashiers.
While attending the University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc he found himself still bagging those groceries and resurfacing that ice, but he also picked up tutoring his peers in Chemistry, Physics and Math. His unorthaodox style of teaching led several students to bring their lessons to him for class rather than attending their usual class periods. In one instance the Professor came to Mike to ask if her students were coming to him because there was so much improvement. It was here that he found his passion for teaching, but his passion for learning was yet to be satiated.
His next stop was the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His study habits remained the same, but he graduated with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Chemistry. Upon graduation he went through yet another period in his life. This period he refers to as "living the dream." He built a paddle boat, an arcade box, drove to New Mexico, and made a scrapbook because he said and I quote "I'm losing my memories and I don't want to forget."
Perhaps the next period in his life he would like to forget. The following four years he spent working for a Manufacturer of Electrical Distribution Equipment in Milwaukee, WI. After four years of more than satisfactory work his employment was terminated by a rather ungrateful superior. This was untimely, but he had already been planning on quitting at the end of the year and working for Doctors without Borders in 2009. His interview in New York did not go as he would have liked and he was not hired for the position.
Instead he chose to continue what he started in 2005, Mike's Cumulative Present Program. In 2005 he built a horse stable for his sister. After his termination he took his parents on a trip across the Western United States. Upon its completion he decided to head to South America to do volunteer work on his own as he traveled about the continent.
On Thanksgiving Day his trip was cut short, being mugged by two Colombians in Bogota, Colombia.
This very event changed the entire course of his life. In one swift slash of the perpetrators switchblade he went from a humble farm-boy, to a finger-raised fancy-boy. Upon completion of surgery and rehab to repair two severed tendons he started his Pinky Up Tour. This tour is spanning the entire United States with four separate goals; the Campaign, the BDHS Challenges, the National Parks, and Living Life to its fullest. Although irrational at times he has an uncommon perspective on life and is optimistic to the point of delerium, which may be what is needed to turn our country around to the world leader that it once was.
