Mayor McCornMayor of Mitchell is Mayor McCorn

While visiting the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD I stumbled upon an interesting fact. The Mayor of Mitchell works at the Corn Palace. Now, I've been to the Corn Palace twice and I have yet to tour the place, so, for all I know, it might be an office building in there. Or perhaps, the Mayor likes to work amongst his/her people and the many tourists that pass through this marvel of modern corn architecture.

Pinky UpKate Wellner completes a BDHS Challenge

I challenged Kate with one of the BDHS Challenges since she was travelling to Arizona and Utah, home of a load of red rocks. She has a much better challenge copletion percentage than I do, and she even put her pinky up for the camera. I love it, I hope more of you take these things on or contact me to team up on any challenge that tickles your fancy.

God says: "Let there be a Red Sox game":

Things were looking bleak. The previous day's game was rained out, they attempted to get it in the following day right before the game I had a ticket for. They made it seven innings and then it was called on account of the weather. It was now 5pm, with a 7pm first pitch and the weather forecast read 100% chance of rain until 2am.

So, I started to drown my sorrows. I was about to fail another BDHS challenge. There was no way I was going to come back for a make up game. I put down a few more beers, and the next thing I knew the people that I was talking to tell me the game is starting on the TV. I raced over to Fenway, and I arrived just in time for the top of the first. The radar showed green (which is usually good) everywhere except one small patch of nothing right above Fenway Park. The rain held off, the entire game was played, and I stayed dry. It was pretty awesome, the fans were crazy, but not New York Yankee fan crude and vulgar kind of crazy. These were all good people and we had a good time.

Red Sox Fans

I have a very challenged history:

For the first challenge I didn't even know who Marc Cohn is, so I ended up searching youtube, and then I photoshopped a picture to complete the challenge:

Walking in Memphis

Next I headed just up the road in Memphis to dine at Jack's BBQ to get some ribs - I failed this mission as Jack's was closed and I was too hunfry to wait around so I went to Chili's and got some Memphis dry rubbed ribs:

Chili's Ribs

I've been Up and Down on the challenges:

After the ribs, I went to Myrtle Beach to tee-off like Happy Gilmore. The challenge was fun but Myrtle Beach is not my cup of tea. My geographically handi-capped self took the road to DC next to say "hello" to a protester. She called me out as a killer, but I liked the city, and the challenge was fun. From here I headed for the warmth of Florida. Gator fishin' in the Everglades was awesome and so was Sea World. I opted to skip out of Orlando before riding the Rock-N-Roller coaster and my next challenge was up in NYC. In NYC, I failed miserably. Coney Island was closed and the inner-city traffic scared me out of Manhattan before I could chomp on a chicken leg in Chinatown.
